Livina says it’s a good thing the Toyota Calya Indonesia is only available in ASEAN!

Fortunately, Toyota’s new Calya for the ASEAN market will not be introduced into the country, otherwise, it would not be able to compete with the bull’s head. According to AutoFun shown, the Harga Toyota Calya doesn’t come in a not very too expensive way for those who want to purchase such a user-friendly for the big family.

Following the launch of the new three-row, seven-seater Sigra by Daihatsu in Indonesia, the twin car Calya, bearing the Toyota badge and also produced by Toyota Astra Motor, has also been launched. The Calya is a single-box MPV with a sporty, youthful front end, especially the pentagonal headlamps and large chrome-plated water tank cover, and the original emblem has been replaced with an eagle’s wings.

With a body size of 4070 x 1655 x 1600mm and a wheelbase of 2525mm, the Calya has been specially designed to provide spaciousness for seven people in three rows and optimum comfort. The floating centre console contributes to the spaciousness of the cabin, while the multi-layered console trim and metal-like finishings go for a youthful and sporty look, while for comfort, the rear seat roof is equipped with air conditioning vents to provide the third row of occupants with the best possible cabin environment in the hot Southeast Asian climate.

In line with the Indonesian government’s ‘LCGC’ energy-saving vehicle policy, power is provided in a 1.2L configuration with a 1197c.c. Dual VVT-i engine with 88hp/6000rpm and 11.0kgm/4200rpm of torque. However, the safety equipment is rather mundane, with only dual front SR airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts and an ABS anti-lock braking system that is only available at the top of the range; if it were to enter Taiwan with these specifications, it would be beaten to death by the Livina.

However, the Calya’s price tag of Rp120-150 million in Indonesia is certainly the biggest advantage. If it were to be introduced into Taiwan and priced at Rp300-400,000, it would attract a lot of consumers even if it was equipped with the most trendy equipment. Because there are no more affordable domestic cars in the Taiwanese market, let alone from the Niu Tou brand!
